Ingredients
-
Any left over cut of steak
-
Sourdough bread toasted
-
1-2 red or green bell pepper
-
1 packet of Au ju sauce
-
1 cup of pepper jack cheese
-
½ of a white onion
-
Dash of salt, pepper and garlic powder
Directions
Prep your bell peppers and onions. Cut them into long strands and set aside.
Next toss a little butter to a hot skillet and heat up your left over steak on medium heat.
While that is cooking, take your au ju sauce packet and follow the direct on the packet. Heat up in a pot of water.
Remove your steak from the pan and set aside.
In the same skillet add your sliced veggies and cook until softened. Remove and set to the side. Season with just a little dash of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Toss some more butter back into your skillet and add your slices of bread to the pan.
Layer on your choice of cheese. Here we used pepper jack cheese to bring out that peppery flavor.
Then add your steak and sautéed veggies.
Layer that with a little more cheese and top with another slice of bread.
Cook on both sides until golden. Pressing down on the sandwich to hold everything together.
Cut that sandwich in half and dip into that yummy warm au ju sauce!
You can pair this sandwich with whichever side you desire! Here we used a macaroni salad.
Garnish with a little fresh parsley for a pop of color. Serve & enjoy!
